how do i downgrade my ipod touch software

i want to downgrade the software on my ipod touch 2nd gen, ive downloaded the software but it mustnt be from the best place as it wont do it.

help!

You never gsve any detail regarding the problem that you're experiencing yet you're willing to try an off-the-wall solution that does not have Apple approval. If you're lucky, you won't introduce any new problems to the iPod. If new problems do occur, please don't come back here looking for help.

As others have said, that does not work. When restoring an iPod iTunes contacts the Apple server to ensure that you use the latest iOS available four your iPod. iTunes will not let you select and user an earlier version.

In the past you could do a downgrade but not now.
