Apple Imac A1225

Hi all,

I'm hoping you folks can help me. Been working on an Imac A1225 (Mid 2007) for quite a while now for a friend. It seems the issue is that a video signal isn't being generated. Diagnostic LED's 1,2 &3 are lit. #4 is not. Nothing I try seems to work. Fans power up, No chimes, but the screen is completely black. Can't seem to get past it no matter what I do.

So far, I've:

1) Replaced the memory

2) Replaced the video card

3) Replaced the inverter cable

4) Replaced the LCD screen itself

4) Replaced the Power Supply

5) Replaced the Logic Board

6) Tried PRAM reset (Several Times)

7) Tried booting off the CD

8) Tried to get into safe mode

9) Tried to boot from an installation cd

10) Tried to connect an external monitor

......Nothing. I'm kind of at a loss as to what to try next. Is it possible that the HDD is dead and can cause this on an Imac?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Johnnyapplemac,

I'm having some similar issues to an iMac A1225 and was wondering if you found a fix to your problem? I've inspected the LEDs on my unit and LED 1 is on when I plug the A1225 into power. I press the power button and LED 2 lights up, LED 3 goes on for a fraction of a second, and halfway through the startup chime, the whole computer loses power and all LEDs go out. I unplug the computer and plug it back in, and LED 1 is on again. LED 1 being on makes me want to think the power supply is ok and that it may be the logic board. I've taken the power supply out and inspected it visually and can't see any issues. In a iFixIt forum, I found a similar thread and it seemed that a replacement power supply fixed that user's issue. Any advice would be much appreciated!
