Aside from the false rumors, there is nothing to suggest that Logic is being abandoned, and if it was then Apple would be being very inefficient right now by keeping all of the development staff at the Logic division in Cupertino. They surely wouldn't need the entire team for the maintenance and bugfixing of current code so I honestly have no reason to believe that Logic 10 is not coming.

But if it is, it should be a HUGE update due to the 3 years it took to make. Honestly, I don't think it'll be FCP X-like. IMO, the common mom, dad and kids never really use Garageband like they used iMovie becasue GB has always really been seen as a stepping stone for most, unlike iMovie, which was actually preferred in certain simple situations over the more complex FCP. FCP X's look and feel was really made to get the common Mom and Dad used to the interface and pardigm of the more complex cousin of iMovie in order to convince them it's easy to get into using more advacned tools to edit thier home videos, amongst many other reasons. Maybe Apple want to do a rewrite of Logic internally however, to support 32bit float audio, proper multithread scheduling (maybe even AU 2.0) and a bunch of other deep level technology. That could be a lot more complicated than it sounds if the core code is written in a way that means major parts need rewiting to get the features they (and we) want.

It's especially awesome if you offer services to make money off the release!

(just kidding!) (mostly)

Does anyone feel like cattle being herded for the slaughter.. Apple is getting very good at this business model.

Thanks for mentioning the Environment is still available, I wondered about that.

You might want to start a topic on the services you offer, or is that against list rules?

Hi Pan,

Well, the first video course is completely free. Of course, quality content creation does require money to maketh 🙂

But, if you're all interested in free tutorials... then we've published 2 FREE tutorial-articles already on Flex Pitch:

Logic Pro X Tutorial: Flex Pitch

and the new MIDI FX Arpeggiator:

Logic Pro X Tutorial: Introducing MIDI FX: The Arpeggiator

Honestly, there's lots to like about Logic Pro X. I was cautious at first, but the additional features like Flex Pitch, MIDI FX, and track stacks are very cool. There's also a new handy Quick Help feature too!
