How do I import a song from an email into my iTunes library ?

It is now 2017 and Apple still won't allow you to save an emailed file to iTunes. It is part of Apple's highly successful "Switch to Samsung" initiative.
Open Itunes and just drag the song to itunes. You can also doubleclick the attached song in your email and iTunes will launch. The song should then be copied to your default folder where your songs are located. I am assuming you are doing this from your macbook or computer. You then have to sync to your iPad.
You cannot do it from the iPad directly.

Pretty sad that this is still not possible. But it lets one import to the mostly useless iTunes-U? This appears to be reduced functionality for some political (not technical) reason.
