does aol desktop work on macbook pro

I've been a long time AOL user and am considering replacing my old PC laptop with a MacBook Pro. Does AOL have a desktop version that will work on the MacBook Pro?

I was able to download and install the AOL Desktop for Mac from here > http://daol.aol.com/software/desktop-for-mac/

The site requirements state v10.5 and up but I was able to install on v10.7.4 Lion.

If you aren't sure which Mac OS X you have installed, click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click: About This Mac

Great to hear! Can you tell if it works or not? I've read conflicting stories on the internet. I would like to understand if I'll have to switch email accounts if I go ahead with the MacBook Pro.

I'd actually recommend that you don't use AOL Desktop if you can avoid it. It's a bloated piece of software which is entirely unnecessary. You can set up the Apple Mail app to receive your AOL mail, you can set up iChat with your AOL buddy list, and you can browse the web using Safari. And setup is extremely easy under 10.7.
