AirPort Extreme Wireless Base Problems ... please help

I have an AirPort Extreme Base wireless router that I have been using for about 1 year. I have 2 iPads, 2 smartphones and 3 laptops that have connected to this device, without problems, for about 1 year. Within the past week, I can not get either of the laptops (Dell and HP) to connect wirelessly. I cannot connect with my iPhone. I can still connect with both of my iPads. The laptops will connect wired to the internet so the modem is working properly. I have re-started and re-booted everything from the modem, wireless router, external devices several times. Please help with any suggestions so I can use the wireless router for my laptop computers. Thanks.

I appreciate that Al, and will certainly do that. This doesn't take away the fact that it is only the iPad having these problems, not other devices. So it isn't 'just' the interference, it is also the poor built of the iPad.

Well I have a very similar problem. At home and at the office.

For some years I did not have any problems but suddenly the problems started first at home, then several months later at the office.

Home: iMac a Router/modem from the local internet provider ( Cablecom ) and an airport device. The airport device was for years the ufo, then I switched to time capsule and some months ago to airport extreme base station. There is one iMac two iPhone's ( 5 and 3GS ) and two iPads ( 2 ). It is absolutely randomly which devices work. And suddenly after several days they stop working. Sometime switchin on and of the router and the base station helps, sometime no. Updating firmware, resetting and so on did not help, but for a while.

I have tried to switch the channel as adviced here, but my iPhone still can not get to the internet. The peculiar thing is that the device shows that it has connection to the WLAN, but no Internet connection.

With the UFO I never had any problem, then after many months the problems ocured with the time capsule, I tried switching back to the UFO, no help. Then the time capsule broke down and I bought a new base station. Same problem

Office: One iMac, a router/modem from the local internet provider ( Swisscom ) Airport Extreme bas station, one Mac mini, 2 iPads and two iPhone ( 5 and 4 ). Same thing same problem.

Is the DHCP a problem? Do the router and the base station interfer ( yes airport is in the bridge modus )?

What is the definite solution?

I have same problem as TigerGirl95: wireless doesn't work except for iPads, wired works fine (have computed working on wired all the time, so not the same as Ragnar).

Even more, I can say that wireless stopped working at exactly midnight last night. Have Airport log to prove it. I verified that my iPad (first edition) is connected and working on the 5 GHz channel, but when I try to connect to that with my iPhone5 or Mac Mini (2012), it fails to connect.

Tried changing the 2GHz channel # to 8, 2, but no effect. Wireless works fine from my AT&T DSL router if I turn that back on, but it doesn't have 5 GHz.

Seems to me that the Airport Extreme (7.6.4) had some HW or SW failure. Next I will try a factory reset.

OK, I have the solution-- at least for me.

Problem was the Timed Access Controls were modified (without my knowledge-- parental advice: don't type in your password for your teen without knowing exactly what he is going to do!) to kill the Internet on weekends. (Didn't do what he intended after all-- serves him right.) The "default" rule was changed to weekdays only.

Changing them back, everything is fine. So check in Airport Utility the Network/Timed Access Control. Mine was set with explicit rules for my iPad (to "always"), that's why the iPad was still working.
