iPhone 4 doesn't ring, only vibrates, but speakers work.

My iPhone 4 (AT&T) suddenly won't ring when someone calls or I get a text, it only vibrates. The speakers play music fine, and I can have phone conversations and hear/speak to the other person fine. Also, the alarm clock sounds The mute switch doesn't seem jammed or anything, but when I switch it off, it doesn't show the picture of the bell with the line through it while vibrating to let me know its off. Also, the volume buttons get no response when pressed. Any ideas?

TRY... Top left on side .... there is a little switch , when moved there is a little orange stripe which makes the ringer stop but vibration works . slide so orange is gone . Ringer ON 🙂

I've been going crazy trying to figure this out hoping I didn't need yet another phone after a year (like my 1 yr and 3 day old HP printer that died just days out of warranty, go figure). But I tried this, clicked on mute, then unclicked it and voila! back to pretty ringer music, thanks. (iphone6)

solved my problem. Turns out my phone has a vibrate only / ring button and it was on vibrate only.
