Latest version on itunes does not support Quicktime......can't play TV show my wife bought last night on iTunes. Help

I had this Quicktime not supported problem for some movies in iTunes 11. I get around the problem by dragging the movie from the iTunes windows to my desktop where it opens and plays fine with Quicktime.
