Getting error 12004 and cannot activate home sharing. Any suggestions?

I noticed the same issue about an hour ago, glad its just not me, hope Apple fix it quick.

Yup, I'm getting the same error and have been for the last two hours.

"Home Sharing could not be activated because an error occurred (12004)."

Same here in Germany.

AppleTV3, MacBookPro and iMac. Set all my devices new... New IP-Config... and so on... Trying many things since 2 hours... Nothing works...

Please Apple, fix it and tell us what is "12004".

Still the same. Bought my AppleTV 80 days ago. Now it's midnight in Germany. Apple will call me tomorrow at 10 a.m.

I am trying to connect to home sharing but it says "unable to sign in" some kind of server connection failure, try later!

Same problem here in London (UK).

I think it may be a problem with a server used for authorization so it is affecting people globally. I made the mistake of turning off home sharing (due to some streaming problems) and restarting it is resulting into issues.

WHY ON EARTH does Apple need to contact the **** iTunes store for Home Sharing???
