can I record my voice on the gen 6 iPod nano? there are no screens relating to voice recording. Will they appear if I attach a microphone?

Can I use my ipod nanao 6th generation to record voice?

It was sold to me (in the SF Apple store) for that purpose, but there are no screens or buttons relating to voice recording.

If I buy and attach a microphone will those screens appear?

I've checked the online help and it says that voice memo is supported.

Yes, you will see a blue Voice Memos when you plug in a microphone. Didn't your Apple headphones come with a remote & mic?

The headphones supplied with the nano don't have a microphone. But yes, If you do get a pair with a mic, the voice memos icon will appear and you can record.

Go to settings-home screen scroll to the bottom and ensure "voice memos" is on. Once that is enabled it'll make the icon to use the voice memo feature appear on your home screen of your nano.
