Can't shutdown, Safari won't quit!
MacBook is running slow, tried to shutdown but Safari is preventing it. Closed all windows, 'quit' Safari but it never quits and doesn't give the option to force quit. Help!

You can find Utilities by clicking on the Finder (Left side of the Dock)
First way:
Up in the top menu bar, to the right of the Apple () you see File, Edit, View, Go
Click 'Go'
Click on Utilities.
Second Way:
Click on Applications in the Finder's Sidebar
Find the Utilities folder in there.
Have you tried looking at what is going on in Activity Monitor (located in your Utilities folder)? Safari might be eating up your CPU time and you can both check it there and quit the process from there.
Let us know what happens.

you can also hold the power switch down for about 15 seconds, and that will turn the power off.
The option-command-esc will bring up Force Quit or you can select Force Quit from the main (Apple Logo) menu. The restart example should also work, but uncheck "Reopen windows when logging back in."
Thanks! Was able to force quit from the apple menu. Still pretty new to Mac, where do I find the Utilities folder?
Thank you!
