DVD player not working after Tiger update

Hi,

I recently updated my Powerbook to Tiger (from Panther) and I can't watch DVDs with the DVD player anymore. The error message is 'Media not supported'. These DVDs worked perfectly with Panther, and I can watch them on my powerbook with VLC. Does anybody know help?

Powerbook 12, Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Gernot,
you can try to "Repair Disk Permissions" using Disk Utility. Also, reset nvram may also help.
You can also re-install the latest combo update from apple.com

Re-installing the Combo-update helped.

It is a little bit dissappointing that Apple automatic update does not work proberly.

Reinstalling the latest combo update solved the problem.
