icloud not syncing documents to between new ipad and iphone 4s

Documents created on my iPad or my iPhone will only display the documents that were create on the individual device, my spreadsheets from my ipad don't show up on my iphone, the presentations from my iphone don't show up on my ipad.

I've tried every combination of turning iCloud documents & data off in the iCloud setting and the app settings themselves.

They are both using the same iCloud account.

I have deleted and re-enabled the iCloud account on both devices.

I have restored both devices from back ups.

I never had this problem before I moved up from iPad 2 to New iPad.

Can anyone help?

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1

It's not just iWork apps not syncing - third party appos also have issues - my iA Writer does not sync anything over iCloud - it's also completely dead.

Apple have some really serious problem with iCloud. So big they don't want the world to know about it. That's why the iCloud System Status always show green light :-D

I just had a minor flash of insight and a little luck tonight!

I am a long-time Apple network service user. I moved from .Mac to MobleM to iCloud, but the entire time, I used my original AppleID, based on my .Mac e-mail. Well, now that I've been on all three, I have the same email address @mac.com, @me.com, and @icloud.com.

No matter what I did, I could not change the e-mail address that icloud used. For me, it insisted on using my @me.com e-mail address, even though I have only used the @mac.com address from the begining. I changed my default on iCloud, but my settings on the iPad persisted to use @me.com. I could delete my iCloud account, and re-sign in, but the mail account setting remained the same.

Well, tonight, I tried to only reset the device settings, not wiping out the entire memory of the iPad. When I re-logged in to iCloud, it now recognizes my desire to use my @mac.com e-mail address. Also, iCloud document syncing seems to be working (but not for documents created while iCloud was trying to use my @me.com address). I still lost my documents that were not synced before the Apple Genius had me wipe my device. So much for the iTunes backup.

The only thing I draw from this, is that the discontinuation of MobleMe has probably caused unintended consequences for us refugees from that now defunct service.

i have read on other apple forum discussions that the email address issue (@me, @mac) is to blame. i've tried that, but it didn't work. when i was having the issues, i was glued to these discussions looking for solutions and tried everything that was offered. apple knows about the problem and (i feel very lucky) solved it on their end in my case. i know that is no consolation, but hopefully in a next ios update, they will solve this issue for all. and / or they should buy dropbox. i have never had any document syncing problems with dropbox.

Having the exact same problem, continued to have the evermuploading arrow on my ipad 2 in numbers, and pages. Same issue on my iPhone 4S, even newly created documents would synce altogether. Stupidly tried rebooting my ipad 2 and lost all previously in un-uploaded documents even though I backed up right before reboot. Hopefully apple will realise there is a real problem here. As currently I am a bit anxious to keep anything backed up in iCloud in case I can't get it back! Still without my documents, still unable to sync1

I have the same problem, and for me it started when I replaced myiPad 1 witha new iPad 4.

I initialized the new one out of the last backup of the old one. Everything worked except syncing iWork documents to iCloud.

I have already tried every potential solution discussed in this thread but nothing worked.

While iCloud and iWork on my Mac are still synching, now also synching with the old iPad doesnt work anymore.

It seems tobea problem with my ipCloud account because when I connected the iPad with a different iCloud account (my wifes) it worked again.

So creating a new account would be a solution, but not really an acceptible one.

Right BREAKTHROUGH. Spent 2 hours with senior apple advisor sorting this out. Apparently this a bug embedded in the i06 update. To fix this 1st restore your iPad/iPhone, now this is the important part..... Don't back up from a restore point, this will simply restore the bug. Instead manually sync your apps, music etc over, including the iWork apps. (If asked create as an new iPad/iPhone), still log in through iCloud just don't boot from a restore point. Although you will have lost all your setting and need to manually re enter them back in, you will have re-created a safe bug free ios6. All your content will need to be put back on. Oh and make sure In your settings all the icloud switches are turned on! It's a pain but all my documents are now downloading and uploading through the iCloud as they should now. If in doubt schedule a call with an apple advisor, if they can't help there supervisor should be able to.
