App Store_Safari_5.0.5

I can not access the App Store thru Safari; only can access App store thru iTunes. Why?

iMac (24-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

The App Store is accessed through the App Store application or iTunes. There is no browser access.
