Adobe Flash will not work in webcam chats with external video camera. When I connect my Canon video camera to use in a webcam chat, Adobe Flash does not see the camera in the "settings". The external Canon camera works fine with I-Chat, I-Sight, Skype,

When I connect my Canon video camera to use in a webcam chat, Adobe Flash does not recognize the camera in the "settings". The external Canon camera works fine with I-Chat, I-Sight, Skype, but not with Adobe Flash video chats. Im on an IMAC and lastest Adobe Flash (11) I also have a MacbookPro and the Adobe Flash works fine with my Canon camera on web cam chats. How do I get Adobe Flash to recognize my external video camera for Web chats?

I just ran into this same problem and I resolved it by using Ecamm Network's iGlasses application (http://www.ecamm.com/mac/iglasses/).

iGlasses is designed to tweak your camera's settings, including adjusting color, brightness, contrast, etc. along with a bunch of other effects like the ones that come with PhotoBooth. One nifty feature of iGlasses is that you can choose which video source you want to run through the app, so you can select either your built-in iSight or an externally-connected camera.

Once you've selected your external videocam as the source in iGlasses, bring up your Flash chat client, and you should be able to choose "iGlasses" as a video source. Voila! Your external video camera should show up in the chat!
