Close All Open Apps... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
if that does not work try this: this will delete the ipos touch.
1. First, Open up iTunes, plug in your iPod Touch to the CPU*'s USB port. Turn on your CPU's speaker and make sure it is loud enough that you can hear it.
2. Hold down the power button (top right) and the home button (located on the front bottom of your iPod Touch) simutaneously, until the screen goes black and the device turns off. (past the red slider/slide to power off screen)
3. Now let go of the Power button, but continue to hold the Home button. Your iPod Touch should have turned off and the screen should not be on.
4. After around ~10-20 seconds, you will hear a noise (beep/ding) from your CPU as if it had just recognized a new hardware device, now iTunes should recognize it in DFU mode.
5. After iTunes recognizes the iPod Touch, let go of the Home button otherwise it will go into recovery mode and you will have to do the entire DFU process over again.
6. You will know when you have put your iPod Touch correctly into DFU mode when the display is blank and that you do not have anything on your device.
7. Restore your iPod touch with itunes.
*CPU= Computer
Lester, for this problem ther is zero reason to place the iPod in recover/DFU mode. It just add confuson to the poster.
Hey this can mean it's overloaded with unwanted stuff...đź
There is no reason place in recovery/DFU mode. Just restore normally via iTunes.
You are just confusing the poster.

forget what i said.
I've been having the same problem with mine. I tried resetting it, restarting it, rebooting it, restoring it and none of that worked. I finally just took it apart and replaced the cameras themselves. That didn't work either. Does anyone have any ideas on what else could be tried? It's strange because the front and back went out at once. I'm not sure what else to do.
Either the replacment camera was bad, bad connection or there is a problem with the logic board. Since bith cameras went bad at same time that tends to point to a logic board problem.
Is there a way to repair the logic board?
No, the logic board is not realy repairable.
Is there a way to test the cameras to see of they are faulty? Would it be worth it cost wise to replace the logic board?
The ony way to test a caera is to install it and see if it works.
A "new" logic board is only cost effective if you can find a broken iPod with a good logic board.
all i had to do was compleatly uninstall itunes the reinstalled latest verison and POOF it worked!!!! đ
