You have installed a MIDI driver that is not fully Lion compatible, that's the usual problem.
You have installed a MIDI driver that is not fully Lion compatible, that's the usual problem.
So can you tell me the way I can fix this problem? Is there a way I can uninstall the midi drivers? I think this problem occurred when I hooked up my mbox mini!
Yes, the mbox avid/Gigi MIDI driver is not Lion compatible... you installed software with the mBox, correct? ProTools and other associated files? Are you using the very latest software/driver set for the mBox, if so and it's not working in Logic you willl have to manually uninstall the MIDI drivers.
This includes ALL related Avid/Digi/Protools MIDI drivers in side these two folders.
Root/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers
And
Users/Your Name/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers
The above folder is now hidden in LION.
Read this thread to see how to make it visible.

What's with the spacing? I didn't do that?
I don't kno about the spacing. But thanks for your help as soon as I get to my laptop I will try this.
"MIDI timeout: Logic Pro has detected a MIDI timeout. Please restart your computer, then relaunch Logic Pro. If the problem persists, update the drivers of all connected MIDI devices (including audio drivers with MIDI functionality) to the latest version. For instructions on removing older drivers, consult the manufacturers' documentation."
I have tried every blog and every link and every "solution" to this problem but nothing is working. I have to force quit Logic everytime now. I have not installed Pro Tools. There is nothing in my Root/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers folder or my (unhidden) Users/Your Name/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers. I am running Mac OS X 10.7.5 Lion and Logic Pro 9.1.8.
I was on Mac OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard when the Midi Timeout started to occur. That's when I switched to to Lion hoping to fix the problem. No luck.
Help please?
GOING THRU THE SAME THING WITH MOUNTAIN LION ? HAVE YOU COME UP WITH ANYTHING ?
what if i deleted all the midi stuff and it still has the same problem?
DON'T DO ANYTHING!!!! Please... the best way to repair it is just to log out your computer log on back open logic pro.. and everything will be back to normal.. TRUST ME IT WORKS......
