Just got a new Macbook pro lagging.

Hey I am a new Mac user. Justt switched over from PC. I am hapy with my with my MBP except for one thing it has had three times in two days it has lagged. first i was installing some software and using some and it froze second time i was using the software and it froze third i was using the software and i had another freeze i got the MBP with i7 8GB RAM and 750GB HDD. any suggestions BTW it was adobe software i was using and it happens atrandom times. or is it maybe like i have to give it some time to get to its peek?

The online reason you should have any 'lag' on your new MBP-R is when Spotlight is indexing your files. You shouldn't freeze up during anything, though. What Adobe software were you trying to install? Did you actually experience a kernel panic or just very slow installation?


After you get all your files installed, and as you're installing new files, Spotlight will continue to index those files. It's usually not a big deal - you just actually notice it, maybe, within the first day or so. After that it will only crate indexes for files/applciations/etc., added. This might ot might not be your problem.
