I am having the exact same problem. I have just tried to restore my iPod, but my computer doesn't even know it's there. When I open updater, it still asks me to plug in my iPod, even though it is plugged in!

EXACT SAME PROBLEM here, honestly, we need some resolution. I agree that this happened and it hasn't worked since, I didn't do anything to my iPod either!

I am hearing that a lot of people with the same problem as us are just plugging their iPod into the USB and charging it over night. They say the computer still won't recognize it while it's charching, and the iPod's screen won't turn on, but after a day or so of charging, it will bounce back. So, I'll try it. good luck with yours!

No, it didn't. I'm going to take it to an Apple store tomorrow, though, so we'll see what happens.
