My imessage on my iphone wouldnt work this morning so i decided to turn it off and then to turn it back on. But now it wont activate, its just saying waiting for activation. I dont want to reset my phone, unless theres a free way of saving all of my text messages. (I DONT WANT TO DO SCREEN CAPTURES). If anyone could please help me, it would be very appreciated! Thanks

Based on the other posts on the forums it looks like imessage is having an update. Most posts I have seen say to wait 24 hours and it will be cleared up.
now i have just noticed on my device that in my message box all my contacts that have been saved as iphone in there contact cards, there names are not appearing in the message box but any of my contacts that do not have iphone theres names are showing as normal, has this same issue affected any other user on iphone 4 ios5.1.1

this is happening in the United States too.. everyone is haveing problems since this morning
They are saying within the next 24 hours. You can be compensated for the cost of iMessage. Which would be $0
I know it doesn't help any of you, but mine now works. I did absolutely nothing, I just turned my phone off for the night then turned it back on this morning. Thank you all for your help, it did regain some trust back into apple, I think they should look at all of these discussions and actually start to think about compensation, we pay enough for there products and we expect a fully working service for how much we pay for their products!
