My original IPAD will no longer turn on tech support suggested holding the home button and power button at same time this did not work.
At a loss if battery is dead seems to cost more to replace or repair than it is worth.
Any ideas or subbestions?

Try charging for several hours with the Apple charger.
Then try again to press the Powerbutton en Homebutton at the same time till you see the Apple logo on your screen.
Thanks for the info but no luck! It has been charged overnight and will not come on have held the two buttons for over a minute.

You have tried a few steps already, but you might be able to bring it back by restoring it, assuming that the battery is not dead. Pay attention to the last link the one that says if the iPad is not recognized in iTunes,
Thanks for the info ITUNES will not recognise it I really think the battery had died nothing seems to work. Not sure if it is worth replacing battery.
