how to open motorola, how to open motorola device manager

I am manually programming a Motorola droid bionic smartphone. Instructions are to put the phone in diagnostic mode, plug into computer, motorola device mnager should open and then I enter instrucions into it. Anyway I downloaded an update for Motorola Device Manager, but I don't know how to open it. Before I got the update it didn't open. Does anyone know how to find it on my MacbookPro, Snow Leopard, and how to open it if it doesn't open automatically. Or am I in the wrong forum?

You need to download and install it. Have you done so?

As to a proper forum, Motorola's would probably be more likely to get you help in using their products.

Thanks for info and links. I downloaded and installed the update so I must have the basic software. I found several links using Google, so between that and what you sent I should be all set for a while, Thanks.
