Free Mountain Lion Upgrade

I filled in the info for the free Mountain Lion upgrade on my retina macbook pro... unfortunately I'm from Canada and it asked for a zip code (even though I was on apple.ca). I put in my postal code and was able to "submit my info" and get a claim reference number. Hopefully it still works.. I did notice it appended United States to my address too.

I sent an email 2 days ago asking about an automatic update from my sales receipt that tne Apple Store salsman told me about upon purchase of a new iMac on June 11.Then, I found the Up To Date online form on Apples website. I received a response a while after telling me to fill out the form on the website. Then, yesterday afternoon, I received a followup email to see if my question had been resolved yet. I relpied No, then I received the following response this morning. It's from my App Store support request.

Hi ,

Our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience.

I understand that you haven't receive your code yet. Please wait for 48 to 72 hours to receive an email. Apple is aware of this issue and is working to resolve it. You should receive a new code soon.

Thanks for your forbearance and patience with regards to this matter.

Sincerely,

Randy

Update: I just received the 2 Emails. One with CODE in a pdf file, and the 2nd email with the password to unlock the .pdf file.

I'm downloading the update now.

This is less then 48 hours after submitting the Up To Date online form.

I've waited a lot longer on some other things..... Like ICS for my Motorola RAZR MAXX.

2 days wait compared to 3 months isn't too bad, is it?

There is no point calling... They will tell you to wait 72 hous or it will clear up over the weekend

People get codes randomly, doesnt matter where they live, what time they filled the form etc...

Everyone got the refernce code after filling up the form, so you can call after Monday and ask, no one will help now except standard excuse - "everything is OK, please wait a bit"

After 20 minutes waiting on the phone, an APPLE ADVISER answer it... (Apple Customer Service Brazil)

He asked my Serial Number, Name, E-mail and telephone...

Same excuse...

" wait till 72 hours to receive the code... if it does not arrive at your mailbox, call again, ~wait 20 minutes more~ and we are going to resend it. "

The good news is that my request was approved. Apple is having trouble in generating the codes and sending it.

Fianlly got two emails, one with an attachment. It's been about 55 hours-ish. Hope all goes well! I guess Postal Code works in zip code spot and the United States that was automatically appended to my address didn't matter.

Update: I used the one code from one of the emails to unlock the PDF file in the other email which contained another code, like people were saying, and I pasted it in the Redeem section of the App Store and Mountain Lion seems to be downloading.
