Mountain Lion redemption code has already been used

Just gone through the process to get a redemption code for Mountain Lion. Successfully received the PDF that contained the code, tried to redeem it in the Mac App store and got an error saying:

"This code has already been used. Each code may only be used once."

Oh dear. Are they sending out duplicates? What should I do now?

I just got a reply (have the same problem as you guys):

Greetings from iTunes Store. I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to redeem a code for the Mountain Lion. I know how frustrating that can be but don't worry I will do my best to resolve this issue.

I'm sorry to hear that you've not yet been able to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion because the code you received could not be redeemed. I realize that you hadn't in fact used this code already and that you'd like to begin enjoying the features of Apple's latest OS. I'll be happy to assist in getting this resolved.

To be clear, customers who purchase a qualifying new Mac computer between June 11, 2012 and July 25, 2012, that does not include OS X Mountain Lion can upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion for free. To participate in this program you must be entered by August 24, 2012. If your claim is accepted, a valid replacement code will be sent to you by email. There will be no need to submit a new claim. I apologize for any inconvenience in this regard.

Please let me know if you do not receive a replacement code within 24-48 hours, as I'll be happy to look into things further for you.

I would like to share some additional information regarding OS X Mountain Lion that may be helpful for you.

Count me in. I got my redemption emails pretty quickly this morning - followed all the instructions only to be informed I had arleady used the code. Brand new Macbook Pro - first time Mac user. More than a little surprised. Sent an email back to support indicating the problem - haven't heard anything back yet. I've got three people who report to me that also got new Macbooks - will caution them about the apparent issue.

Total BS. I called tech support and the guy had no clue about this issue. He then accused me of getting my code yesterday when Apple screwed up and made the page available for an hour. I got my code this morning and it doesn't work so now I have to wait 24-72 hours to get a new one. My reward for dropping 3k on a new MacBook Pro Retina. Thanks Apple. Great job!
