Corrupt Mountain Lion File @ App Store?

I followed the steps for searching for preflight.pfpkg explicitly and no such file was found - what does that mean?

I had the same problem trying to download Mountain Lion. But don't delete Virus Barrier X6 - it has nothing to do with the problem. Lots of people use Virus Barrier and there is no problem downloading Mountain Lion. Two days ago I went to one of the Apple Stores in Paris today and one of the technicians there solved the problem. In fact, he was not aware of this problem before attempting to help me. He consulted some sort of problem and solution list that Apple makes available to the technical staff and he located the problem and the solution offered by Apple. Apple is calling this issue an "emerging problem" related to Mountain Lion. The solution, and it worked perfectly, was to open the computer in "Safe Mode", then exit safe mode and restart the computer. We went back into the App Store - attempted to download Mountain Lion ... and it worked perfectly. It was a non-invasive solution that worked. Hope this works for everyone else.

Could not download Mntn Lion. Running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Disabled Virus Barrier x6 in advanced preferences but did not delete. Took app store icon out of dock and dragged it to the trash. Went to app store web site. Downloaded immediately. Took icon out of trash, restored Virus Barrier X6. No muss no fuss.

The last one was what did it, moving the preflight.pfpgk to Trash

I had the same problem with my mid 2011 Macbook Air. After 2 days of trying every thing listed here I finally had to erase the hard disc and re-install Lion. After that, Mountain Lion installed.

What a pain.

Wonderful, solved my iPhoto9.4 update problem immediately. I had been trying to uninstall Netbarrier5 for months and had not discovered this utility, so this has solved two problems at once.

I was having a similar problem, but did no have Virus Barrier X6. I tried all different methods of fixing the issue, yet every time I downloaded Mountain Lion installer it would be a small size file that would be corrupt. I was using the American App store, but downloading from Thailand. Yet, when I tried using a VPN to download from the USA the download FINALLY downloaded correctly. So the issue my potentially be a corrupt file on the Apple server internationally. Hope that helps some of you.
