Notes wont sync between Iphone and Mac on Mountain Lion

I am not sure how to get my notes to sync between my iphone and mac on Mountain Lion. Reminds works fine but when i went to look at notes I noticed that on my iphone under iCloud i didn't have notes turned on. So when i turned it on it said something about needing to create a @me address so i created one but now my notes are synched. Am I missing something?

If wires aren't your thing, and they are 20 years ago, how do all of those fancy high-end products of yours work? All wait its all wireless right - even the electrical current, right?

Now you're being silly, but as most of my devices carry their own power you're right, no wires.

Notes is a very effective tool, I subscribe to the notes server (in iCloud), lo and behold, the same Notes on everything I use, regardless of where in the world I am.

I find that useful.

Right on, BUT notes will sync in the grid/net/cloud w/o iCloud of which this is very useful. Learning how-to-do-it w/ other ways that are provided by default is where we can and will find innovation. Someone once said that using no way as way is always best.

Now back to the "no wires" thingy - so you still believe that everything is completely yr<?

That you do not and will not use anything with wires?

That is so interesting. I must have missed the ANSI/IEEE/AMC announcement. As far as I can remember even EMI, bluetooth, wifi utilities/tools still use wires.

So again please explain world without wires, it sounds so interesting...(!)

Why the reductio ad absurdum?

We're all aware that the Internet uses wires. That's immaterial. It's being compared to "tethered sync" where you're using a direct attached cable to sync Notes on OS X with Notes on iOS. Which is no longer an easy built-in option and was replaced with IMAP-based sync in Mountain Lion.

Using symbols like "yr<" and telling us that ANSI/IEEE/AMC have wires in the infrstructure of the Internet is ridiculous and stupid. Stay on topic or stop posting.

I was just asking a question(!)

It is agreed that the IMAP with works. It has been proven that IMAP for does work independently(w/ or w/o lion or a Mac), between i s over < networks.

What is curious though... WGYTR to try to critique by means of slander?

Are you insecure?

Are you angry?

Why does it sound like you are?

We are talking about different approaches and work arounds( if you have been keeping up ). There is no right or wrong answer. There is only what is observed, recorded and reported - despite "release notes, or time frames or etc..."

It is obvious that Csound1 thought I was implying wired connectivity - I was not, as it is implied that while using an iDevice it is wireless most of time.

It is OK to ask questions, to agree, disagree, to take back what you can from what you have read, or what you participated in.

Face to face or over the net, it is not OK to react or act in the manner that you have. I don't think anyone would follow this example.

But I guess it must be OK, as you have a lot of "flare" on your profile - look at all of those points and level-ups, I would hope it is for your tech savviness and prowess and not for acting in such a poor and foolish manner - as you make it appear.

Well hey, we are human, we all make mistakes, right? Right!

Until the next we meet, A Good day to you Sir

reengineer,

You have 'hijacked' the OP's post.

It is OK to ask questions, to agree, disagree, to take back what you can from what you have read, or what you participated in.

I completely agree but in this case, start your own post, inviting those you wish to debate with to participate. If they would like to participate and continue the debate, fine, at least the OP and everyone else that is looking into the issue why notes won't sync between iPhone and Mac, won't have to deal with it / wade through all the non-relevant stuff to get to a solution or important information.

A good day to you as well Sir.

"High-jacking the OP!"... I really don't know about that one.

All I know is that I felt that my sharing of information since June 5th, 2013 carried a level of importance. I've also been on topic and I have also noted that my information has helped others in the community. It's all there in black and white - there is no denying that. Despite my nature of writing "novellas".

However, If what you say is the case, then Why didn't anyone else start a new discussion thread for this concern and invite Csound1, William Lloyd and myself, as you are advising ( eg Csound1, William Lloyd, yourself )? As all 3 of you have been in the ASC for quite sometime, I would imagine either would lead by example - this appears to be so perplexing.

I'm no stranger to TRBs, BBs, or the likes, and I still do not see nor buy into any "wrong" doing on my part.

No harm, no foul. I'll make some mental notes for future use.

Thanks, Cloudster, for this recommendation. It is the most practical way to address this issue. I had a similar situation where I had (for some unknown reason) had notes in two other IMAP email accounts that I had created from my iPhone. And, as you can imagine, nothiing synced up anywhere. Anyway, I copied all my notes from my IMAP accounts to iCloud using my iPad. My iPad still had one of the email accounts active that I had blown away on my iPhone, so I decided to copy and paste from it. Anyway, I watched the notes pop up on my Mac and my iPhone as I added them, just to be sure. Also, what is cool now is that I can access notes from other computers by logging in to iCloud. So, in short, everything in its right place. Thanks again for the suggestion.

The most amazing thing about this thread is that A YEAR AND A HALF LATER there is no clear solution as to how to sync notes to a mac.

Just migrated from Snow Leopard and what a mistake it was. Mountain Lion is so elegantly non-functional in so many ways.

From the crappy address book to the loss of or perhaps not loss of the Save as function.

And I can't sync a silly set of notes to an imac after being able to do it for 2+ years on snow leopard.

I've been a mac guy for a while but I can see OS X beginning to eat itself.

Wow. Thanks for the genius reply. I'm calling BS on you.

You can close your eyes to it but there more than 8 different discussions on this site about this subject with a whole lot of people complaining about this issue.

Using Icloud is not a solution to this. Using icloud is workaround that does not sit well with those who have privacy concerns. It won't even work with IMAP syncing for a lot of users either.

The fact is there are a LOT of users with information they would rather not upload into icloud. Some people are not ok with the NSA snooping their cloud data.

Losing the ability to sync notes locally is a MAJOR LOSS in functionality. Period.
