Notes wont sync between Iphone and Mac on Mountain Lion

Not so easy. If notes were stored in "On My Phone" account, then there is no way to sync them to iCloud or anywhere else, if you're on Mountain Lion since "On My Mac" account no longer exists in ML, that means you can't sync them via iTunes as well.

I know you can copy & paste them to iCloud account on the iDevice, but currently there is no easy way to move hundreds of notes.

The only easy way I found was to install Parallels trail, put Snow Leopard on it, sync the notes to SL, and drag them from "On My Mac" to iCloud account.

FYI for those not using the spycloud and still want to sync notes LOCALLY, you can use an app called "Write2"

You can't sync locally but you can backup locally by going to the APPS section of your iphone menu in Itunes, Save the write folder to your computer and there you have it.

It's not a sync. It's only locally backed up notes. There are other note apps out there with this function as well.

Now let's all figure out where our LOCAL syncing of Calendar and Address Book app sync went!

I could not figure out how to keep my Notes on my Macs and IOS devices in sync. Your process worked to get all my previous notes into iCloud and now it works as it should.

About 35% of the global population have broadband connectivity and even those who have it, may have to pay horrific bills for data usage. iTunes works just fine between my iOS7 on iPhone 5 and ML latest updates. It is when I need to sync my NOTES that I am forced through the cloud and that irks me.

A Mac user from USA said he/she could not understand this predicament and I ended up saying "there is a whole world outside the US, a life beyond New York." USA has 300 million people, the rest of the globe has 6,300 million. We cannot adapt to American standards as we do not all have the telecoms infrastrcuture. But I guess that users in big sky country must also be as frustrated as we are here.

Systems developers seem to believe that just about everybody has broadband. That is a very wrong perception as the actual figure is well below 35%.

Is there a workaround or an app that does NOTES via wireless direct or USB?

My Macbook Pro tells me that, as far as Bluetooth is concerned, my iPhone 5 is an "unsupported device."

This new and unexpected frustration with Apple is something that irks others, not just me.

Is there a cure for this?

This problem has been irritating me for ages and your simple logic above has fixed the problem. It also fixed the formatting on my notes that had gone weird on the old notes and were difficult to fix. Initially I started recreating the notes whilst in the 'On My iPone' account and this didn't work. But when I created the new note in 'All Notes' it worked well!

I fixed mine!

Go to system preferences, iCloud, and "uncheck" the Notes box from your iCloud. Then recheck the box and it will ask you to "merge" your current one (which has nothing) with your other notes. Say yes. Then voilà! You have your notes!

A solution that should work for everyone. Ok guys.. there is lots of good info here but here is what's happening. This is for the Mac side only. Sign out of iCloud in OS X. When it asks you to delete from this computer (not iCloud, say yes - providing iCloud is turned on and working from another device). Now, sign back into iCloud on Mac. Notes still won't work as expected. Turn it off by unselecting the checkmark and turn it on again. When you turn it on, it should say "setting up". That means it's now syncying properly and everything should work.
