Oh please. It can be necessary sometimes to reboot a router, Apple TV, computer, etc. sometimes because of WiFi network synchonization problems that can caused by a myriad of issues including channel interference, static electricity, etc. And this can happen on anybodies hardware.
I can use my MacBook Pro with my Apple TV every time. If you have the hardware that supports AirPlay mirroring then you should be able to do the same. If you don't have the necessary hardware then you can't use it but you can try AirParrot.
Mr. Jobs would have no issue with this whatsover, he adopted and pushed new hardware all the time and was not concerned with backwards compatibility. If you read the posts here then you know that the new AirPlay mirroring feature is not an Apple feature at all, it is an Intel invention in their latest chipsets. If you had a 2 year old Dell you would not have mirroring. If you had a recent Dell you would have a new chipset and be able to mirror on it.
