I tried burning the InstallESD.dmg file to a DVD so that I may do a clean install like I did with Lion.. But Disk Utility says the mountain lion image is too big to burn!! HTF am I going to do a clean install now?!!!!
The method is from the Egg Freckles website.. a tradition/common method of crerating a DVD for OS x.

Why do you need to do a clean install? This isn't windows where you need to do that every so often.
I would recommend using an bootable 8GB thumb drive, as the installer is over 4.75GB, bootable USB instructions here.,or use a dual layer DVD.
Advantage of using USB, is that the USB will be a lot faster than doing a clean install from USB than DVD. USB drives are under $10, and I would recommend using this method.
I ALWAYS do a clean install.. its common practice when installing a new OS. Makes no diffenrece if its windows or not. Thats why I have very feew issues with my computers!
No, 10.8 won't install on a single-layer DVD but can be burned to a dual-layer DVD. I have it both on a USB flash drive as well as a DVD (I'm just a stickler for back-ups).

ok.. so will my MBP see the thumb drive once Ive erased my primary HDD ? I believe its turn on mac pressing down the option key.
It's not common practice for me, nor do I ever recommend it unless there are serious problems with the OS, such as not being able to boot. But, if that's what you want to do knock yourself out. As has been suggested, using an 8GB flash drive will solve the problem for you.
I haven't had an issue at all on a mac installing newer operating systems. I was beta testing Lion updates and ML as well and had no problems at all.
You cannot install ML like that by just copying the file to a CD or thumbdrive. You have to make it bootable just like you did with Lion. The DMG file is not a bootable file and you will not be able to install it like that.
That's correct - just hold down the option key and select whatever you've named your USB flash drive. It will boot and you can install Mountain Lion anew.

BUT .. unfortuantely this has FAILED! I keep getting Invalid Argument - Restore FAILED after about 20 minutes of trying to do a Restore image to the USB key in Disk Utility!!!
I just cant seem to get an installable copy of moutain lion on any external media!!! Anyone got any other ideas?

Just come across something called LionDisk maker.. Creates bootable ext. drives too! Anyone used this?
I used it for lion and works pretty good. Not sure if it will work for ML.
Yes, LionDisk Maker will work with Mountain Lion. You would use this before you install Mountain Lion, by doing all the formatting/searching of the InstallESD.DMG file for you.
If you install Mountain Lion/Lion, after installation it removes that file, that is why you need to do this before you install it, or you would have to redownload it.
