I tried burning the InstallESD.dmg file to a DVD so that I may do a clean install like I did with Lion.. But Disk Utility says the mountain lion image is too big to burn!! HTF am I going to do a clean install now?!!!!
The method is from the Egg Freckles website.. a tradition/common method of crerating a DVD for OS x.

You must mount the installESD.dmg file. (Just select open in DU),
before restoring it to your install media.

If you try to burn and mount the InstallESD.dmg with Disk Utility on a DVD with 4.7GB capacity, maybe you get a similar error like this: There is not enough space on the DVD
Does anybody know a solution for this or should I burn the image on a DL DVD?

I'm trying to make a bootable DVD as well. I just went out and bought a pack of Verbatim double layer DVD's. I downloaded the Lion package from the app store, and followed the online instructions. It seemed like it was going to burn just fine, but near the end, it ejected the disc, and said something like "can't burn disc, internal error" and before that I got a different error. Has Apple made it so it can't be burned now? I'd be happy to burn it to a flash drive, but I don't currently have one big enough. Should I try downloading that LionDisc Maker?
It's called DiskMaker X now - all that it requires is an 8+GB USB flash drive: you don't have one that's at least 8GB?

Get yourself a 16GB flash drive and install, (a raw copy of), 10.8 on it. Use that as your bootable drive?
Just clone from it when you need to.
actually I was able to burn it to a dl dvd on my iMac...all set
No problem. I use the USB route as it's something you can both clone and boot from.
I'm planning on picking up a bigger flash drive so I can have that as well....it can't hurt!
