Exchange under Mountain Lion

I have major problems using Exchange in Mountain Lion. Under Lion everything worked fine (Mail, Calendar, Contacts incl. global address list). Under ML only Calendar works, Mail and Contacts show connection errors. Our corporate server is Exchange 2007.

Has somebody a fully working Exchange in ML?

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

Yup, still 2003! I dont think we have pop or imap configured either. I will try find out how to setup the fake hostfile (it sounds like the easiest option)...but the autodiscover would save me having to do this everytime (Im sure more people will bring in their new macs).

@Csound1

Ah ok, I never heard of Entourage (I really need to start using Macs more)...I think its a free download;

So I will try this. Would you reccomend I do this over editing the host file/dns?

Thanks to both of you for taking time to reply, I wasnt sure how much luck I was going to get because I just signed up today. Awesome support. I was at meetings outside the work yesterday so just back in and seen the replies.

We are in the process or merging so there is no chance of upgrading the mail sever at the moment, however we are going to 2013 at some point in the next 12 months. We do have a hosted exchange, but its not for staff (long story).

David, would you reccomend setting up the autodiscover in the dns or hostfile over Entourage? I will ask my boss if I can do this.

Again thanks a lot for the help here.

I'm really getting sick of this matter. When is Apple gooing to fix this? Why are you guys not able to solve this ****? I mean, you're not offering any alternatives to MS Exchange (iCloud isn't really a business solution) so at least try to integrate branch standards!

Guys, does this problem just appear with exchange 2003? So maybe we should update our server - likely there's more trust to Microsoft than to (poor) Apple. A shame for Steve's legacy... 😠

Exchange 2003 is not supported on OSX, minimum required version is Exchange 2007, SP1 r4. And that situation has existed since Snow Leopard!

So yes, you should update your 10 year old version of Exchange or Install Entourage 2008 (which does support old versions of Exchange)

Microsoft's current product (Outlook 2011) also does not support Exchange 2003. Shame for Bill Gates as well.

Have you tried the OSX upgrade?

My quote above was from the Apple upgrade page for ML 10.8.3 - they might have fixed the problem!

I wont be able to instal the upgrade for several days. In any case my single Exchange account has been working ok for me for several months so I cannot test the problems that others have experienced.

So if you install this new version please report back on whther it fixes the probelm(s).
