Calendar won't start after upgrade to Mountain Lion

Hi,

After upgrading to ML, my calendar service didn't want to start.

There is a "Error reading settings" message in the Server window when selecting "Calendar". Additionally, when clicking the "on" button, I get the following error:

The error occurred while processing a command of type 'getLocationList' in plug-in 'servermgr_calendar'.

Where do I start troubleshooting this issue?

I got a bunch of servces that don't work and the migration failed.

Got a lot of error messages in the Library/Logs/ServerSetup.log:

22:09:14.306 Setup extra failed:

path: /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/System/Library/ServerSetup/Migrati onExtras/30-ftpconfigmigrator.pl

RESULT CODE: 1

STDOUT: Did not supply a valid language for the --language parameter, needs to be one of [en|fr|de|ja]

I did the following to rerun the migration process

First, I solved the "Did not supply a valid language for the --language parameter" by doing:

Set system language to English ( open terminal, type sudo languagesetup and choose option 1 )

change language to English in System Preferences

Run setup assisted again:

I put Server.App in the bin, this is detected by the system and trigger all the services to stop within a few seconds: confirmation required.

Rename the folder "Migrated" (/Library/Server/Migrated) to "Previous".

Remove all other folders from /Library/Server/ folder.

Reboot

Move back Server.App in the application folder

Run the Server.App

It solved the problem for me!

This helped me -- I didn't have any data that I needed to migrate -- I'd already imported what I needed onto a fresh install of ML Server, so this was the cleanest solution for me.

My troubles with the upgrade were a combination of others on this thread -- language en-GB not recognised, /Library/Server/Calendar etc missing.

I was upgrading a Mac mini server, which came with Lion Server pre installed.

Pretty poor testing of product by Apple though.

'm running the swedish version. Bought a mac mini server preinstalled with Lion Server. Did the upgrade tp Moutnain Lion. I found that the /Library/Server/Calendar and Contacts directory did not contain a Data folder and that the Config folder did not contain any plist.

So i simply copied the plist from Server App, i.e

sudo cp /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/private/etc/caldavd/caldavd.plist "/Library/Server/Calendar and Contacts/Config"

no change in language locale and the calendar seems to start as it should after that. It seems it was not a lnaguage issue.

Hi again,

As they say these days "My bad", the calendar app appears to start, as far as Server App shows, but when i use a client and try to create a server account I receive an error messages that a safe connection cannot be etsablished and that the caldav settings cannot be determined. So it ends up only setting up adressbook but not calendar.

Guess I'll have to do some error searching.

consiglieri: the "safe connection" issue sounds like SSL is not enabled. In Server.app, go to Hardware > [your server name] > Settings > SSL Certificate > Edit, and make sure "Calendar and Contacts" has a certificate assigned.

Assigning a cert should automatically restart the Calendar and Contacts services.

You can verify the Calendar and Contacts services are listening on an SSL port by pointing Safari at https://hostname:8443/ -- you may have to accept a couple dialog boxes giving your approval to the self-signed SSL certificates.
