Google Search Gone in Safari

Hello,

Please anyone help, my google search that is normally in top right of screen has vanished. I have tried 'View-Customise Toolbar' and can see that the search bar is there to move but is greyed out. I can add other buttons and functions just not search... any ideas? (I have just put mountain lion though... could it be this?) i've attached a pic of what my brower looks like. (and the greyed out area of my customise tool) many thanks

Since you're running Mountain Lion, the address bar incorporates it. Type what you're searching for into it; if what you've entered isn't a website address, pressing Enter will perform a Google search.

Is there any way to get the search bar back?!?!?! I liked having a separate searxh field so I could use the same search words in other tabs... This new combination toolbar really *****! Why can't they leave things alone when they are working just fine? It is not like you need the extra room to see the address bar.... BTW Iam running Lion not Mt. Lion and this changed when the system did an update...

What the heck? The whole reason I switched to this browser was because the last one I used deleted the separate search box. Now Safari forces this change on me with no warning and no choice?

If there is no way to make the latest version have a separate search box, is there at least a way to revert to the last version of Safari and keep it at that?

Very disappointed in the new Safari. Combining the search window and the address window make the product less flexible and difficult to use. Please bring back the orange re-search button. That is a great feature and very useful.

I trying to adjust to this new version, but may be forced to Firefox.

Not only did they take away the second window search option, (big BOOBOO) if you go into preferences to delete history/web information, there are triple or quadruple the amount of spyware/tracking sites that there used to be.....And no way to reinstall older version, no matter what you try it does not work. Definitely won't bother to upgrade to Mountain Lion at this point.

This is EXACTLY what happened to me Grrrrrrrrrrrrr! After spending hours trying to fix it myself, I came here, spent hours trying to log in with the id and password I've had for 10 years, then see there is no fix. I HATE the new safari. Now, when you want to search, you have to erase the address. They have got to fix it or I'll go to chrome like my son wants me to do! Firefox still has the search window too.

Same thing here. I tried it with Chrome and hated it. There are 2 things I loved about my mac back in 2004? It did not update stuff based on what other softwares/harder are doing. It used to be about the user. Also, each change brought more flexibility. For instance with each update, I was able to do something only PCs could while my computer was even better. You know... like using a webcam easier and better when before then I could only use one. I cannot remember an update that switched the way I do things and force me to use my computer the way "others" do. Well it started with Lion and mission control, although I'm not sure where the heck that idea came from. I don't like to whine but this is VERY unApple, it just feels weird.
