I've had the same problem and it looks like this might do the trick. I got past the upgrading your mail database window and it's now actively 'importing mailbox "Recovered Messages (Yahoo)" albeit extremely slowly - says 5 hrs remaining for 707 messages (and I disabled Yahoo and Gmail to hopefully speed things up) so these must be messages that were already in Mail before it crashed. Think I'll wait and see how this goes as it's counting each message as it's recovered so at least I can witness progress. Now on to trying to fix iWorks. Thanks! I'll report back if this solved my mail problem later.

Ok, this worked but had to repeat it (and delete about 8 envelopes) after I deleted all of my Yahoo mailboxes. Upgraded in seconds! Thanks, wish I could figure out how to indicate this solved the problem but don't see that option. Awesome! Now I'll go back into Mail is System Preferences and turn Yahoo and Gmail back on.🙂🙂➕

Tried all the fixes here to no avail. Apple mail crashes on launch since upgrade.

I can get MS outlook to work.

But Apple mail does not work.

Also under the Apple "SOFTWARE UPDATE" goes to appstore.

"APPSTORE" goes to appstore. Does Software update take you to App Store?
