I think we all might be dealing with different issues with the reboot. I know for my issue mountain lion never actually gets installed. It goes realy quickly through the first art of the installation and then hit the reboot and thats when I get the boot loop. I am glad though that others have found a solution, but I for one know I have nerv had trend miro on my mac 😟 so I am still looking for the answer.
I think it should be a driver problem beacause according to the problem report the kernel panic happens when loading some IO-Drivers. The bad news is, sometimes it says something about apple.HDA and now something with Bluetooth:

Im on a MacBook Pro, bought September 2010. Everything except audio and accelerated graphics is fine in save mode but this is getting terribly annoying.
suffix90,
Your KP seems very similar to mine that I recieve in my iMac. Here is the really odd part, I have erased the drive and tried a clean install of mountain lion to see if it fails as well and it does. I am now also thinking it is a driver issue. The KP's I have been able to view on mine seemed to point to ioStorage.sys
Well after all I now also did a clean installation and everything works fine and fast for me.. maybe not a driver but some mysterious application that caused the trouble..
I am glad to hear that the clean install worked for you! I wish I was as fortunate. I have decided just to leave lion on their until Apple can get this fixed. It doesn't make nay sense at all to me why a clean install did not work for me. As there should be no applications ot mess with the install, or any other kind of conflict. The worst part is, that mountain lion installed without a hitch on my 2011 macbook pro 17.
I will confirm this!!! I also had to completely remove TrendMicro Security. It must be incompatible with ML. It caused the reboot loop that everyone has been talking about. After it was removed, the full install of ML completed without a hitch. I hope others see this string to avoid wasted time.
I can confirm that this was also the case with my iMac here...
The issue is documented and acknowledged by Trend Micro, and here is the link:
They describe different solutions including a removal procedure, that works from the terminal on the recovery partition.
A word of caution
When using the terminal based removal procedure, Trend Micro have not considered that you might need to remove their application from the recovery partition terminal, when they put your regular system partition into an eternal reboot loop. Thus you need to know what the commands do. You will need to cd into to your system partition in /Volumes and execute all the
rm -rf -R
commands without the starting forward slash. Also you do not need to sudo.
Just installed mountain lion and now my imac is in constant reboot loop. Any ideas?
