Just installed Mountain Lion together with Safari 6.0. All looks ok but now i notice that the MJPEG streaming videos are freezing after a few seconds. Tried several sites and all with the same result. Any clues?

Deselect Enable plug-ins in Safari > Preferencs > Security, quit then relaunch Safari to test. Might be a plugin that's either not compatible with Safari 6 or causing a conflict with MPEG files.
If that makes a difference, troubleshooting help here >Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

I'm having the same problem. Could be because of WebKit2 enhancements, but it looks like a trend. Google recently dropped motion jpeg support in Chrome.
well the strange this is that Safari 6 on Lion works with regard to MJPEG stream, however after the migration to Mountan Lion it stops...
I removed ALL the plugins and restarted Safari (6) and nothing. I tried Chrome and Firefox= same result....
For me, the freeze is only happening on Safari 6, not on Chrome or Firefox. I have a web page with 5 simultaneous mjpeg streams, and they freeze at different times...
Same here. It works if I keep clicking on the track bar, which is pain in the neck. Also another way is to download the video (I use Chrome Video Downloader)....for now until Apple provide solution.
Hi Diego7, same here. Safari 6 on Mountain Lion is freezing but Firefox still works. Time to wait for a fix

Hi, see the same thing here. It appears to be part of Mountain Lion and not really Safari. Safari 6.0 is allowing for MJPEG to be displayed under Lion. So we wait for Apple to fix it

Yes, the MJPEG support in Safari 6.0 on Mountain Lion (but not on Lion) appears to be severely broken.
Tested with our own HTML5 video surveillance software, as well as with MJPEG streams from AXIS cameras and, in one case it doesn't even load the first frame, while in the other it plays a few frames than freezes.
They're trying their best to drive us back to support Flash!
I'm having the same problem with my security cameras, mjpeg not working...
Just to add, I am also seeing this problem. Looks to be Mountain Lion specific. Very annoying.
I wonder if anyone tried reinstall the OSX to see if it solves the issue?
