Safari 6 Lion Reinstall = Problems

Yesterday I installed Safari 6 - which worked fine.

But I have been having some problems with other aspects of my Lion installation, so I decided to do a reinstall. I booted into the recovery partition and resinstalled the OS.

The outcome was not good.

The installation had reinstalled the older version of Safari.

Every time I ran Safari, it immediately crashed with the same error.

If I run Software Update - to take me back to Safari 6 - it asserts that all software is up to date.

I found a manual Safari 5.1 DMG, but that will not install.

Currently stuck with this situation, can't upgrade and can't go back.
