Smart Mailboxes not working with Exchange folders?

this is something new to Mountain Lion

I am building a simple smart mailbox that is supposed to show the messages from a sub-folder from my Exchange account

when you set-it up, you can select the folder:

User uploaded file

when you review the smart mail-box the folder is not selected... it's like it's not storing it

Not sure I understand what you're doing to make it work using iCloud.

I created a smart mailbox called "SEARCH" and set it up to look for email from a particular address in one of my Exchange subfolders. This used to work just fine but now when I do this, the smart mailbox will not retain the Exchange subfolder selection and defaults to "no mailbox selected." By comparison, I can do this same thing with a subfolder in my Gmail and it works no problem. So, I'm not sure how iCloud helps short of moving my Exchange subfolder content there.

Open to ideas and suggestions.

Thanks!

Hello,

The smart mailbox select the emails from a particular address in my exchange account (i.e. address XXX). Once I have read the email, I move it to another mailbox "read mail from XXX".

The rule in my smart mailbox is "the message is not in the mailbox 'read mail from XXX' "

If I have this mailbox "read mail from XXX" in exchange account, the smart mailbox doesn't work, and the selection defaults to "no mailbox selected", but if I have this mailbox (which is included in the rule) in my iCloud account, the smart maibox works fine.

I have a not so intelligent work around for this that may help others. My problem is the same: My work uses outlook exchange, I have folders on my exchange account andI have rules that filters incoming mail into these folders. I'd like to have Smart Mailboxes pick things out of these folders (the ones on the exchange account).

For example, I have a folder on my exchange account called 'Announcements' and I want a Smart Mailbox to show all unread mail in that folder.

Create a Smart Mailbox that looks for mail NOT in the Inbox and then add the rules that would normally result in the mail ending up in the folder.

Go figure, that works.
