Mountain Lion won't sleep, shut down, restart, or log out.

Hi All,

After Mountain Lion my 2010 iMac 27" won't sleep, shut down, restart, or log out.

Basically most functionalities of clicking the apple icon are disabled - "About this Mac" doesn't work either.

Please help!

Before Apple fixes this, is there another way of putting my Mac to sleep or shut down?

Update -

It onlyworked for a couple days.

Just found something that has some promise here http://www.adeepbite.com/lion-seems-having-insomnia-it-doesnt-sleep-easily/

It turns out that after the update my internet sharing and blutooth sahring were enabled. Turned them off and things are looking better.

My iMac (Mountain Lion 10.8.3) was not shutting down properly for around year. It would be stuck with the grey spinning gear and wouldn't move from here.

I tried the Safe Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455 and now it shuts down properly.

This fixed my issue and hope it helps someone.
