Time remaining on Mountain Lion battery
On Mountain Lion, is there a way to have the menu bar show the time remaining as Lion used to? All it shows now is a battery percentage.

To All.
It is still there but you have to click on the battery icon to see it.
IMHO Apple will not be adding this Feature/Option back into the OS. So just get use to it as it is now and stop the Wining. I'll have a little Cheese with my Wine.
you don't get it. the whole point is that we can't see the battery time left right away. what's the point if we have to click on it every time.
No I get it. And I understand it is an inconvenience from what it was like before. But you have 5 options.
1) Deal with it as it is.
2) Contact Apple and complain.
3) Us an Add-On program.
4) Return it to Apple for full refund or sell it privately.
5) Return the OS to Lion and stay there.
Now if you have a Retina MBP those option are cut down some as even with Lion the time stamp was removed.
I so regret upgrading to Mountain Lion. The changes seem really incremental, and they just remove some small but very useful feastures. Battery icon not displaying time is one. Fan running crazy on my macbook air is another. Moreover, my macbook air now seems to last less long than earlier. May be that is why they changed the battery icon. If true, that is pathetic, Apple. We expect much more from you.
Just left some feedback and voted for this question -- make sure to leave feedback!
It isn't on mine when I click the battery icon.
Anyone of you guys seeing (or not) any battery life issues as well?

Forbes has picked this up and the more people we see posting. Maybe it's related!

+1
The clock on my wrist tells me the correct time of dat, not percentage through the day - the battery status would be more helpful to use a similar scale.
As a previous other poster mentioned, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
It's just Apple's way of tell you Apple Is In Control.
+1 to getting this back. Why take out something that works, & is useful?
Yes please bring it back!
Battery Time app is great but it can't be moved to the correct place in the menu bar. Not sure if this can be fixed?
Please đ I so miss this, I thought I was going mad when it dissapeared.
I'm not liking the update tbh I've had to do a clean install now as my old Lion when upgraded ground to a halt and even Apple store couldn't fix it.
2 days wasted fixing the machine and shock horror no battery time đ err I noticed battery draining a lot lot faster too...
i emailed Tim Cook the other day, found his email via google. I asked if could have the design team bring back the time remaining option. If enough people email apple, I'm sure they would be more then happy to give us the option back via an update
I am a newcomer to Apple (just one year) and things like that sometimes make me wonder whether I should have moved from Windows. This authoritarian way that Apple behaves with customers is unbelievable. You are always in their hands, you don't have much freedom of choice and they never seem to care about what you think. Do people from Apple ever reply to these discussions here? Or are we just talking to ourselves without no one paying attention to what customers are feeling?
You are Absolutely correct in your views about Apple.
No Apple Never Replies to any of these threads. Right we are taking to ourselves.
Apple does have a Feedback/Complaint email address. Sorry I don't have that link as IMHO Apple doesn't listen anyway.
Quote Steve Jobs.
"people donât know what they want until you show it to them" (Read that force it down their throat).
