iPhoto '09 and Mountain Lion

Has anyone else with iPhoto '09 (v8.1.2) upgraded to Mountain Lion already? I usually keep as up-to-date with my Apple software as I can, but I really was disappointed with the iLife '11 version of iPhoto so I've been holding back on that update. Now that Mountain Lion is out, I'd really like to upgrade my 2011 MacBook Pro but I'm a little wary to do it before I'm sure I can keep using my previous version of iPhoto. I do have a current version of Aperture 3, so if the old iPhoto breaks, I can keep downloading my pictures and making my books but I'd really rather just keep using iPhoto...

I bought a new iMac (late 2012), and got Mountain Lion with iLife 11 installed.

I really don't like iPhoto 11 (I especially miss the full screen mode of iPhoto 09) and would like to downgrade to iPhoto 09 (I have the iLife 09 DVD from my older Mac).

Is it possible to install it ? When I try to launch the iLife 09 installer, iPhoto is grayed out and I cannot install it.

If I copy the app bundle from my older Mac, I get a message error when running it telling me it cannot run on this system.
