Can't select snooze time in ical events

It sure says a lot about a piece of software when it gets THIS much negative feedback ... and I'm willing to bet these comments are a small fraction of the users out there who are getting tired of being pushed around by this corporation that has gotten just a little too big for it's britches.

The removal of the iCal variable snooze feature is a big negative for my daily life. I was thinking like everyone else that Apple would increase the flexibility of this not eliminate it. Very disappointed.

Update... Found a nice replacement for the iCal variable snooze response feature removed in OS X Mountain Lion. In some ways it is better. I wish apple would build this into iCal. If someone finds a better solution please post.

The only negative is it's not free. Yes it's only $4.99 but why should I have to pay for something that iCal did for FREE? That why I liked it over other 3rd party programs that cost a lot of money. With all the monry I've given Apple through the years was it really that much to ask that I don't have to spend $5 in the app store to do something I was able to do previously? I spent that $ on a cheap desk calander instead. Until this gets fixed I'll just write the reminders in on the days I need them leading up to the dates like I used to be able to do with the snooze.

Apple seems to be increasingly making design choices that I find really exasperating. Lots of 'fixing what ain't broke.'

Skeumorphic design is another one, and apparently there's a rift at Apple about stuff like this.

Same here. I was living and working ont this snooze funtion. Now I cannot stand to have to click on these snooze buttons every 15 minutes for 2 to 10 events at the same time!

+ I don't understand why does the reminder windows display so few characters! 35 or so. Why can't they put the event name on 2 lines!

I can't stand it any more and must move on and find somethig else that works. I have bought Due only a short while ago, so not tested it fully, but one obvious issue with Due is that you can have reminder groups like the Apple one, so all personal and work reminders all get lumped into the one view. I think this might be a deal breaker for me as I don't want to have to sift through work and personal reminders. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

The best solution of course would be for Apple to pull their finger out and fix their apps - they have removed useful functionality for what appears to be no good reason. Come on Apple! You're only as good as your last OS build and at the moment Windows 8 is staring to look quite good.

Outlook has excellent snooze options, way better than iCal used to have. It also has a great interface and the mail functionality is far superior to Mail. IMHO.

True, Outlook/Entourage is an option - thanks for the reminder, however I must admit I do quite like Apple Mail 6 especially the way it groups conversations. I don't think Entourage 2008 does that. Not sure about the latest one?

Entourage isn't an option because it's discontinued and too incompatible. Outlook does conversations, perhaps not with all the eye candy of Mail but the tradeoff is far more features and integration with calendar, contacts, tasks and notes in one app which is a big plus for me. Plus, I enjoy the interface far more than Apple's apps.

Yes, I see now. I'm a bit behind the times with Outlook for Mac as I was reasonably happy with Apple's inbuilt apps. May have to look at updating my Outlook but really crazy option (more expense) all becauase Apple won't include a szooze button!

UPDATE ON DUE APP: This app does not have good snooze options only, 10min, 1hr, 1 day. The snooze action is not avalibl on the popup alert, you have to go into app into item to set. Autosnooze is okay, but with previously mentioned issues makes this moot for most I would think (auto snooze max of 1 hour). The app doesn't seem to run in the background so takes up screen space, can't have mutiple alert groups (work, home, etc). Only thing they seem to have got right is the ability for the app to 'understand' plain english which makes adding an item easier/quicker than other apps.

Yes the dumbing down of this product really *****. The snooze button in Mountain Lion is now effectively useless. I would like to see apple respond to this thread and address this issue. Explain why they removed it, apologize, and tell us how quickly they are working to return it! The next update/patch would be appropriate!

I think it's highly unilkely that Apple will respond to this thread.

Probably our best bet is to submit a feature request/complaint to Apple.

Please fix this Apple! How hard is it to add adjustable snooze times???

Fix should be: Just click and hold on "Snooze" to get a list of times.

We need options! There are more options about how the Dock should operate than Calendar reminders! I think Calendars are just a little more important, don't you?
