Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Have just installed Mountain Lion on this mac, and after launch the first application I tried to open was pages.
Just constantly crashes on launch, and asks to report to apple.
The same has happened on another older iMac which is running Lion, after the iWork 9.2 update.
How do I fix this? :L
At the moment I'm redownloading the app from the mac store - my broadband allowance is taking a thrashing!
No need to redownload. I'd start with basic troubleshooting like using Disk Utility to repair permissions & deleting the Pages preferences. When something that used to work stops doing so, the most likely culprit is corrupt preferences. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist file & then restart Pages. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your user Library will appear about halfway down the list.
Hmm, the Solutions doesn't work for me 1:1. I had Lion ... installed all updates ... upgrade to Mountain Lion ... iWork'09 crashed. I'v deleted Preferences, repaired Permissions ... doesn't work. I decided to manually download 9.2 again (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1563) ... installed ... everything is OK now.
Yeah this never worked for me either. I had to redownload pages to get mine to work.
Apple have sent me an email and are looking into the problem.
Several users have found the only way to get it to work is to delete & reinstall, especially if they got Pages from the Mac App Store. It is odd that only Pages is a problem, not Numbers. I don't use Keynote & don't follow that forum.
I have the problem too. Its not just pages -its all three components of iwork.
I had problems with this and tried all of the other suggested methods to fix it, but none worked. Finally, I went to the Security & Privacy setting in my Preferences and under Contacts I unchecked Pages -- problem solved immediately. In fact, my problem began when I applowed Pages to access my contacts in the first place.
