Update 19.4.5

I installed the latest update (twice, in fact) but immediately thereafter...
(a) my printer began printing only blank pages and
(b) I always get the message...
==========start of message=================
Safari can't find the internet plug-in.
The page “BBC Radio Player” has content of MIME type “audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page: etc, etc
=============== end of message============
...when I run BBC Radio Player and others. BBC Radio Player always worked for me before. Could either of these problems be caused by my installing 10.4.5? Seems like more than a coincidence.

Thanks for ANY help.

Hi Jersey Guy,

I reinstalled RealPlayer, after deleting everything with RealPlayer in it's name, and now I get a different error message LIKE I DID BEFORE and if I click on CANCEL I begin hearing the BBC LIKE I DID BEFORE. For the record, here is the message:
==============Start of Message====================
Safari can't display content on this page.
Some content on this page requires an Internet plug-in that Safari doesn’t support. The application “Windows Media Player.app” may be able to display this content. Would you like to try? CANCEL/OK
============End of Message=======================
If I run Internet Explorer 5.2 I get no message and RealPlayer just starts up without comment.

I ordered new ink for my printer and now I'll start playing with that. After I get new ink, I'll try printing a local test pattern, using just printer pushbuttons (if I can figure out how).

Thanks for your help. Part 1 WORKED! On to Part 2.

I got new ink cartridges and replaced whatever the printer wanted. It still prints blank or nearly blank pages. If I try to print a test page with different shades of red, it comes out with streaky yellow bands where some reds should be, and nothing at all for others. I tried reloading the software, both from my disk and from Epson's web site, all resulting in no change.

If I try to print a "Confirmation" page using only tyhe printer's pushbuttons, that also comes out close to blank. I'm starting to think it's the printer itself. Maybe I should ge a new one

I think the printer had just bit the dust. I guess the fact that this all happened when I uodated to the new OS was just an amazing "coincidence".

I bought a new printer. I got an HP "All In One" 1500 Series to replace my Epson C82. The All In One will also make copies and scan. I got it for about $70 at Costco's and it's guaranteed for life. Can't beat that. Epson has great support but I'm not wild about their printer life.

Anyway, I'm now back to "normal" and have no outstanding problems.

Thanks Jersey Guy. Your suggestions were very helpful; they got me moving.
