safari on mountain lion is slow

Hey there,

could you tell me how do I do a safe boot? I am willing to try everything to make this thing faster! my imac is going nuts!!

This tell you what to do.

Once it boots go to Disk Utility and Check Repair Disk Permissions.

Then after you reboot normally, gointo Safari and check your Preferences - Extensions - Try turning them all ogg.

Then see if Safari is still slow. This fixed it for me. You can try turning them back on one at a time and you might see which one is causing the problem.

I have a 2009 IMac and a 2012 Macbook Air - both run ML perfectly now - no problems with Safari either.

something between 10.8 MT LION and safari MUST be wrong as same safari 6.0 with 10.7.5 11G30 lion works perfect, also with "tons" of open tabs and pages ..

Just did a test between Safari Version 6.0 (8536.25) and Firefox 14.0.1

I copied and pasted www.nbcolympics.com into Safari and Firefox.

I pressed enter in Safari first then Command+Tab over to Firefox and pressed enter - the results : Firefox actually loaded the page instantly. No delay. Safari finish a couple seconds after.

Safari 6.0 is broken.

Good call. So mad about this whole thing. Who tested this? Were they asleep? 😠

I've been dealing with this problem also. I spent an hour for two days on the phone with Apple, they even romotely looked at my computer. They tried everything and nothing helped. They asked me to reinstall and see if there was a difference... no difference. The guy gave me his phone number and extension to let him know if that helped. He said if it didn't he'd put in a note to engineering. So it seems like a problem they will have to fix. The least I can say is they were helpful and really are trying.

Safari is too slow in Mountain Lion in sites like Facebook, this problems appeared jus after the upgrade, the scroll bar doesnt work sometimes and typing in the keyboard becomes impossible. If you restart it seems to work better, but just for a while. I see a lot of people is having the same problems so I expect an update soon, if someone gets a fix sooner, please let us know. thanks

take in the meantime firefox 15.0 beta, works like a rocket and does'nt disturb the hole system like safari 6.0 (when open)

I am having the saming issue with Safari after the upgrade. It used to be very fast earlier no additional apps running on my mac. My 3 year old PC is faster than the latest mac book pro.

I had the same problem, after I disconnected ICloud everything was going faster like expected.

In my case the issue turned out to be Photostream constantly uploading and bogging down my internet connection. Disabling Photostream under iCloud settings solved the issue.

I have the same problem. Safari is very very slow after Mountain Lion, even with localhost sites. Sometimes, scroll stops working too.

I'm having the same issue as well. I'm on a brand new Retina MacBook Pro and just upgraded to Mountain Lion. Safari is noticeably slower than it was on this same macine in Lion.

I had similar problem with my imac and after disabling iCloud on my system, everything was very fast like expected.

Same problem. Safari is sooooooo slow. looks like windows vista.
