recovery mode no power button?

Hi, my ipod touch 4g is stuck on the apple logo and i'm wondering how i can restore it. My lock button does not work and my computer along with itunes doesn't recognize it. I tried diiferent cables, original and third party, but still the same problem. Please Help

you can diconnect your battery or let you iphone/ipod die and when it dies or you reconnect the battery then plug it up to the charger and press dont the home button as soon as you plug it up and it will go into recovery mode. my iphone wouldnt boot up so thats what i did.

after pressing the (enter recovery mode) some error msg comes up- The program cant start because QTMLCLIENT.DLL is missing from your computer.

to put it on dfu mode first u have to turn off your ipod if u cant trunoff it so (press both home and sleep/wake button at same kind untill its turn off) after that let the one part of your usb cable inside ur computer and when u enter ur cable in ipos then quickly press and hold both home and sleep/wake botton and when apple logo appears leave sleep wake button but keep holding home button till its get in dfu mode

The poster said his power button does not work and thus your suggestion is worthless
