Bought via UK HE store but warranty only shows as one year

Hi all.

I have a MBP Retina that was bought via the UK HE store (from within my uni network). I've just been looking at the warranty information, and was surprised to see that it's only showing that the warranty is only valid until 1 after the purchase date.

This is not correct, as it says on the pages when ordering;

"Every new Mac purchased from the Apple Store for Higher Education comes with complimentary telephone technical support for one year from your Mac purchase date and three years of repair coverage"

Is this something that'll 'sort itself out' - or do I need to get in touch with someone and get something done?

You're welcome 🙂

It should be a bit quicker now, I ordered mine shortly after the new Retina MacBook came out - I think they were swamped with orders at the time.

When I ordered mine, I used one of the computers on campus - that meant that it recognised it was from a uni network and I was directed to the appropiate page.

There are ways of accessing that store from outside a uni network, but I can't remember the address for that.

Thought I'd chime in for those who currently find themselves in this position and are thinking about contacting Apple, and additionally to further refute the earlier posts from someone who clearly doesn't know what they're talking about (e.g., "you only have a one-year hardware warranty"). I ordered my laptop earlier this month, from the online Higher Education store, and it took 15 days from the date of purchase for my extended repair to show; until that point, my coverage was given as being until 2014. It's now showing as 2016, with phone support until 2014.

For anyone who still finds this all a bit unlikely, here's a handy link to the Cambridge HE store where, if you go through the order process, you'll be able to verify that this extended warranty exists as standard: http://store.apple.com/uk_edu_5000832

How do ya like them apples, Wjosten? 😎
