Mail 6.0 (Mountain Lion) Graphics Issue

I upgraded to Mountain Lion yesterday and I've noticed that sometimes when I go into Mail, there seems to be a graphics glitch and then goes away. Today, I went to Apple and they told me its most likely a bug they'll have to patch since it's the first version of ML. I have a picture to show you (you can see where it's distorted). It's mostly when I open mail with a message from something that has links. They sent it to the engineers to see what's wrong. My hardware diagnostic came back fine too. Should I be worried? What do you guys think?

No need to worry. If Apple says it's a bug and lots of people experience it and they say they'll fix it, I bet it gets fixed ;-) It's just cosmetic right?

Thanks for the reply. I'm just worried because I never had a problem (or any) with Lion. I download this, and I get a bug ( just my luck). I feel like I'm the only one who noticed this bug so I'm afraid it won't get patched. I figured if my hardware is fine, then it must be an update/software issue. It's very on and off.

and it only happens in Mail 6.0....everything else is fine.

You're certainly not the only person experiencing this. I see it too on my MacBookAir4,2 and have seen a number of other forum posts describing the same thing.

I have only seen it in Mail. It appears over numbers and hyperlinks in messages. It moves with the window when the window is dragged around. It stays in the same place when scrolling the message initially, but after a second the view seems to redraw and the graphics glitches jump to a new position, enmass but maintain their position relative to each other.

It's not your hardware and it's not 'just your luck'; bugs are very common in new software. I get the impression this one is fairly common so I'm sure it will be resolved soon enough.

I'm having the same issue as well.

Got a nice list of issues so far with Mountain Lion, but nothing killing me other than time and some minor annoyances.

Still not sure why I upgraded though as I'm not seeing or feeling any differences worth $20.

I'm seeing this on my Macbook Pro. If I switch graphics cards it goes away temporarily.

If you install gfxCardStatus you can switch from the menu bar.

Are you switching to discrete and looks ok? or integrated?

Must be something wrong with the drivers for the Intel integrated graphics (mine is Intel HD Graphics 3000). Hope this gets fixed in 10.8.1. Thanks for the tips as it definitely works.
