Mountain Lion UI Lag on rMBP !!! (Let's Make this thread serious and hope for a fix)

I personally think the UI lagging bug is a serious issue on rMBP because this machine cost $2000 and up and it lags on UI features such as Mission Control and Space Switching while classic Macbook pros don't. I do understand that the retina display models carries a high resolution display, but I think the quad core CPU should have the ability to handle it (please correct me if I am wrong)

I am hoping and asking anyone experiencing the issue to follow up with this thread and post your concerns. Let's hope for a fix soon and we can really enjoy the beauty a Retina Macbook Pro brings to us.

I used the full 2880x1800 resolution in Windows, with 200% UI size to make things readable. No lag whatsoever.

Thats not HiDPI thats just full resolution. You could also set this in Mac OS X and you wouldn't experience any lag there either. Research what HiDPI means.

No. Full resolution reduces UI objects size to a pixel-to-pixel ratio, 1:1, so text and icons are small but yo are using the full resolution of the screen, and this mode works good.

HiDPI means that UI objects are scaled up while you are still at full resolution, making them more difined.

In this mode everithing is a mess.

How do you run at 2880x1800? And how do you increase the UI size? I can only select a maximum resolution of 1920x1200....

It is in essence HiDPI if all UI elements are scaled up 200% (4x the pixels). This is exactly what 'retina' does. 4x the pixels for everything.

No they aren't the same. If they were the same then we would have the 2880x1800 screen real estate in OS X if HiDPI only affected the UI elements. Increasing UI element size is not the same as HiDPI.

Anyone noticed the SMC update for the 15" retina MBP? It seems to give a little bit better performance in day-to-day use, or is it just me?

Yea, just installed, nothing improved... same lags, UI flickering, Safari flickering, text disappearing, active windows glitches, bla, bla, bla...

Ehi Tim, can you feel it? It's not the big one approaching, it's your CEO chair starting to move away...

Finally 10.8.3, Listen Everyone, Install the Update and remember to chek if you have UI lag , Open Quick Time Player , File , New Screen Recording , Use your mac and see if it lags ....

that's the best way to test it ....
