Mountain Lion UI Lag on rMBP !!! (Let's Make this thread serious and hope for a fix)

is it the "/[^<]*</s///" ?

and now my machine says I need xcode installed to do this -- I guess it was uninstalled when I upgraded to Mavericks (as was a bunch of other stuff)!

Sorry I might not have typed it in correctly. Here's the command line cut/pasted:

ioreg -lw0 | grep "EDID" | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

And yes, it's alright to install Xcode.

LSN here and still lagging. Any other idea? :-(

As is sad before, my MBP2007 and my 2006 PC are blingingly faster than my ne MBPr 2013....

I already knew the command and also that my screen is LG’s, I did not take my macbook to a technical assistance yet, because I saw many people like (Nokardron) reporting that they have the Samsung's screen with the same problem, I know that some screen models from LG has a serious burn-in problem, but it's not my case and it seems that is not the case for the most people.

Do you work @ Apple?

Completely fresh install? SMC reset? Otherwise take it to an Apple Store and get a Genius to compare it with the butter smooth floor models.

Hello Ricardo. I would encourage you to take it in, especially if it's still under warranty. I would get them to compare the performance of your Mac to the floor models and ask if there's anything that could be done about that. As I mentioned earlier, my brother in law swapped his screen to a Samsung, did a fresh install of Mavericks and I personally witnessed a significant performance boost, from scrolling PDF files to resizing thumbnails in iPhoto.

For me it's not a screen issue. Although my Samsung LCD may be wrong..

*When I say myname I mean my mac username which is also my actual name but I dont wanna show it to everyone on the internet. Anyways, how do I know if my display is LG or Samsung?

Are you sure you typed in the command correctly? Just copy and paste the command you see that's in bold above.

If the serial code starts with LP then it's an LG display. If it starts with an LSN then it's samsung.

When you say completely fresh install, what do you mean? Do you backup using time machine and after the fresh install you just restore it?

Well....I guess Apple has fixed the lag issues once and for all........on the 2nd generation Retina MacBooks 😐

Ok so initiate mission control (with some windows open) once youre in mission control move a window around as if you were moving it to another desktop - are you seeing a little line appear at the bottom of the window???

Checked this on non retina models and I dont see it.... so I'm guessing its a little bug... just wanted to see if its only me.

FYI this is a fresh install of mavericks

Just went to the apple store in hk, all new retina mbp with iris integrated chips. Counldn't really see any difference in smoothness for the 15", how ever the 13" was noticably smoother... but not too much to get so upset about.

A clean install of Mavericks has def made things smoother for me, so I guess case closed meh it hasnt been a great machine but it's too late now..

not every company is perfect, just I though Apple was 😟
